Dru had a long and successful career as an RN, working almost exclusively with children and their families. She worked in hospitals, clinics, schools, and home care. Through it all she loved to work with color and decorating and decided to take a home decorating course. After being pleasantly surprised that her sketches were in fact quite good after being told for years she wasn't an artist, she added some color with the use of colored pencils. Not happy with the subtle color, she tried watercolor pencils after receiving a recommendation from a friend.
The world stopped as she knew it! The brilliant flash of peacock blue that flowed with the water could have been a flame of fire as it ignited a passion Dru didn't know she had. During the next 10 years she spent every possible free moment learning the magic of watercolor painting.
Reflecting back, it's not too surprising to Dru that water is a component of this passion. Since she learned to swim as a young child, Dru has been most at home near the water, on the water, or in the water. The Pacific Northwest provides rivers, lakes, oceans, waterfalls and miles of shoreline to make that possible.
As of the fall of 2018 Dru has been inspired to combine her experience as a pediatric nurse with her passion for creating by beginning a mission of working with Moms. She remembers so well wanting to be the perfect mom, raise loving and responsible human beings, and providing for their health and education. In all that strive for perfection she forgot to have fun.
Dru provides loving supportive and creative ideas for Moms who want to feel good about the job they do as mothers, and have fun besides. She advocates for Mom's night out, date night for Mom and Dad, and family night. Her art and educational materials are augmented with creative discipline, and family craft events.
